ABOUT US
Overview
Studies have shown that unless a pipeline accident has affected them personally,
the public is reluctant to show any interest in learning about pipeline safety.
PipelineWatch is the one platform that allows Pipeline Operators,
Emergency Responders, Public Officials, Excavators and the General
Public to engage with each other on pipeline safety, by means of
information exchange, communications and education.
Working with transmission operators, LDC, Municipalities and all four stakeholders,
PipelineWatch provides a single source location of vital information to support
pipeline safety designed to help all parties better understand their role living,
working and playing safely around pipelines.
Developed by industry and supported by the Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI),
PipelineWatch is an innovative channel to supplement the communications and information exchange requirements of API 1162.
PipelineWatch. One Source By Choice
What we do
Studies have shown that unless a pipeline accident has affected them personally,
the mainstream public is reluctant to show any interest in learning about pipeline safety.
Regardless of the challenges associated with engaging the 4 stakeholders in pipeline safety,
it is incumbent upon the pipeline operators to have a mechanism in place to support those
that chose to participate and to measure the effectiveness of the materials presented as
well as the presentation methods.
PipelineWatch has been designed to supplement your current methods of addressing the public
awareness requirements of API 1162, by providing pipeline operators with the means to cost
effectively inform, communicate and educate all four stakeholder groups in areas where pipelines operate.
PipelineWatch tracks the activities associated with public engagement in:
- Reading articles
- Viewing presentations
- Watching videos
Effectiveness is measured and documented through the use of surveys and questionnaires.

Who we are
PI Confluence; Where Process and Implementation Come Together, was founded in 2003 upon
receipt of a DOT grant to create ICAM; a web-based platform to manage the activities associated
with compliance to US Gas Transmission Rule 49 CFR 192 Subpart O. Currently, ICAM is the industry
standard for integrity compliance management and documentation solutions. PipelineWatch was
developed with pipeline operators in mind. While assisting industry through the management of
process, workflow and documentation, it was found that there was no tool available to truly
measure the effectiveness of current public awareness programs. PipelineWatch was conceived
and funded through PRCI in 2012. PI Confluence brings more than 36 years of experience in the pipeline industry.
